The Department of Magnetism is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) on Charge-to-Spin Interconversion and Magnetotransport in Altermagnetic Thin Films

- The Institute for Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research is dedicated to the study of materials and their nanostructures that can be considered for future applications in information technology and are based on electrical, magnetic or optical functionalities.
Your tasks
- Deposition and optimization of high-quality altermagnetic thin films and heterostructures
- Structural and magnetic characterization
- Investigation of magnetotransport phenomena and charge-to-spin interconversion
- Exploration of the fundamental spintronic properties of altermagnetic materials
Your profile
- Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of experimental physics or related field
- Background in electric transport and magnetism
- Knowledge in thin film preparation and characterization techniques
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in an international research team
- Proficiency in German and English
