Job Description

  • Lancaster University Leipzig invites applications for a full-time, indefinite Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Computer Science to join its campus in Leipzig, Germany. The successful candidate will ideally take up the appointment no later than January 2027. The posting seeks to strengthen the research profile of the School of Computing and Communications and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, and Cyber Security.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Developing a high-quality, internationally recognised research programme in Computer Science
  • Publishing research in leading journals and conferences
  • Pursuing external research funding opportunities
  • Delivering excellent teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Contributing to curriculum development through innovative, practice-oriented teaching approaches
  • Supporting knowledge exchange, industry engagement, and public outreach activities
  • Participating actively in the academic life of the department and wider University

Ihr Profil

  • An emerging or established record of high-quality research
  • Experience of effective university-level teaching
  • A commitment to student engagement and academic citizenship
  • Evidence of outreach, knowledge exchange, professional service, or wider community engagement
  • Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
  • German language skills are not required for this position
