The Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg invites applications for a W3 Professorship in Plant Engineering and Process Safety (m/f/d) to be filled at the earliest possible date.
The successful candidate will represent the field of Plant Engineering and Process Safety in both research and teaching, and must hold the relevant scientific qualifications.
Teaching contributions in English are required; the successful candidate is also expected to teach in German. If German language skills are not yet sufficient at appointment, they must be acquired within two years after appointment.
The appointee is expected to sustain and further develop the degree programs “Sicherheit und Gefahrenabwehr” and “Process Safety and Environmental Engineering.”
The faculty expects relocation to the Magdeburg region and promotes diversity and gender equality.

Represent the field of Plant Engineering and Process Safety in research and teaching.
Teach core courses in Plant Engineering and Process Safety at Bachelor and Master level.
Sustain and further develop the degree programmes “Sicherheit und Gefahrenabwehr” and “Process Safety and Environmental Engineering.”
Contribute to cross-cutting priorities in energy technology and sustainability.
Collaborate with research institutions and cultivate industrial partnerships beyond the university.
Teach in English and German; German language skills to be acquired within two years if needed.
Relocation to the Magdeburg region is expected.

Prerequisites are a habilitation or comparable achievements according to § 35(3) HSG-LSA.
Outstanding research achievements and a proven track record in teaching, and experience in acquiring third-party funded projects.
Ability to represent the field in research and teaching and contribute to programme development.
Teaching contributions in English are required; German language skills must be acquired within two years after appointment.

Location: Magdeburg region (relocation required).
Start date: as early as possible.
Language requirements: English for teaching; German language skills to be acquired within two years.
