Overview

- Call for Adjunct Lecturers. We invite applications from qualified individuals to be included into a pool of lecturers to deliver modules on the Pathway Programmes in the Computer Science domain.
- Location: Leipzig, Germany. Start dates: September/October and January. Continuous recruitment for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 academic years.
What you’ll do
- Deliver the assigned module over a 24-week period, 2 hours per week during term time.
- Create two coursework assessments and two exams per module and provide grading for all assessments.
- Administer module satisfaction surveys to students.
- Attend a one-day team meeting at the start of term to induct you to processes and procedures and to work with Programme Leads, Teaching Leads and External Moderators on designing appropriate assessments; prepare teaching sessions with support; attend team meetings with other Adjunct Lecturers and Programme Lead.
- Be available via email for student and administrative queries.
Your Profile
- Undergraduate degree, or demonstrable expertise in your subject area (essential).
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and students from a diverse range of cultural and educational backgrounds (essential).
- Excellent IT, general administration, organisational, data analysis and presentation skills (essential).
- A 'can do' and collegial mentality (essential).
- Fluency in English (essential).
- Communicative German (desirable).
- Previous teaching experience in a related field (desirable).
- Knowledge of the UK HE system, and/or previous experience at a UK HE institution (desirable).
- A teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGCHE, PGCAP, or equivalent) (desirable).
- Postgraduate degree and/or PhD in your subject area (desirable).

- Modules can be in Maths and Stats; Computational Thinking and Basic Programming; Advanced Programming; Basic Linux Terminal; HTML and CSS; Computer Systems.
