Overview

  • SPRIND – Germany’s home for people with radical new ideas – is leading the development of a national concept for the EUDI Wallet under the eIDAS 2.0 regulation.

  • Role: We are looking for an experienced Monitoring & System Engineer (m/f/d) who thrives in building and managing modern observability environments from the ground up.
  • This role is part of a greenfield project, offering a high degree of technical and creative freedom with the opportunity to shape monitoring standards and system stability long-term.

Tasks

  • Responsible for both black and white box monitoring across critical systems
  • Evaluation, selection, and implementation of appropriate monitoring tools
  • Installation, configuration, and administration of monitoring systems
  • Development of custom checks, alerts, and plugins for monitoring platforms
  • Defining and maintaining rules in configuration management tools
  • Participation in change and problem management processes
  • System engineering for UNIX/Linux environments
  • Acting as a super user and point of contact for monitoring-related topics

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar position
  • In-depth knowledge of modern monitoring tools (e.g., Checkmk, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)
  • Solid programming/scripting skills (Python, Shell, or Bash preferred)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Strong background in UNIX/Linux system engineering
  • Experience with containerization, especially Kubernetes
  • Basic understanding of data center infrastructure
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Job type: Full-time
  • Term: initially limited until December 2026, planned to be converted into a permanent contract afterwards
